Friday afternoon Duplicate Bridge remains a popular pursuit with enthusiastic players competing in astute and friendly rivalry.Bridge has been an integral part of the Officers’ Club since it was built and hopefully will continue to be so.However, fresh blood is always welcome to ensure that the Club continues and Members are encouraged to introduce new players.2015-02-13 14.01.59The Officers’ Club allows for a guest to be invited for a fee of £5.00 for a total of six sessions. Also, a guest may come once at no expense to play and view the proceedings.It is essentially a very friendly and social club with tea, coffee and delicious cake being served during a welcome break. All for  £2.00 per Member.Some Members also have lunch at the Club before play begins and this is very popular.Play is mildly competitive and scoring is done by the Director with results usually sent out by e-mail in the evening. All adding to the excitement of the game.Partners can usually be found if required. Play starts at 1:15 p.m. and ends about 5:00 p.m.2015-02-13 14.01.32 A Christmas Lunch is a popular event and last Christmas was particularly successful. Forty people sat down to an excellent meal and a good time was had by all.Fish and Chip suppers are also becoming a regular feature starting at 6:00 p.m. after Bridge and attracting non-playing spouses and friends.

Rubber Bridge on Tuesday afternoon is also very popular and comes with afternoon tea, coffee and cake all for £2.00  It is essentially social bridge and gives a friendly welcome to all Bridge players who might like to attend.
