Bridge

Friday afternoon Duplicate Bridge remains a popular pursuit with enthusiastic players competing in astute and friendly rivalry. Bridge has been an integral part of the Officers’ Club since it was built and hopefully will continue to be so. However, new players are always welcome to ensure that the Club continues and Members are encouraged to introduce new players. The Officers’ Club allows for a guest to be invited for a fee of £5.00. Guests can come along for a total of six sessions in one year. Also, a guest may come once at no expense to play and view the proceedings. It is a very friendly and social club with tea, coffee and delicious cake being served during a social break. All for £2.50 per person. Some Members also have lunch at the Club before play begins and this is very popular. Play is mildly competitive and scoring is done by the Director with results usually sent out by e-mail in the evening. Partners can usually be found if required. Play starts at 1:15 pm and ends about 5:00 pm.

Rubber Bridge on Tuesday afternoons is also very popular and comes with tea, coffee and cake all for £2.50. It is a social event and gives a friendly welcome to all Bridge players who might like to attend. Play starts at 1pm and ends around 4:30 pm.

Snooker

Snooker is played on our full-size table which is located in our dedicated snooker room off the Terrace/Sports Lounge on the first floor. Please remember that under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult when playing. You can obtain the key to the snooker room door from the downstairs Lounge bar.

Members can book the table using the following link: https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/

Golf

The Club has an active Golf Fellowship that has been in existence for over 25 years. The Fellowship play once a month at different local courses and also enjoy a couple of Golf Breaks during the year. There is an annual trophy awarded to whoever gets the best score in 5 out of the 9 outings presented at the end of season Gala Dinner. New members are very welcome. It is a good way to start playing golf and there are several CGOC members who are not members of golf clubs. Why not come and join us!

If you would like to know more about joining please contact John Carpenter 07879 412324 (jnbcarpenter@hotmail.com) for more information.
