The Golf Fellowship News

The Colchester Officers’ Club Golf Fellowship recently returned from a highly enjoyable golfing trip to South Wales. There were 22 golfers and 6 ‘other halfs’ who made the trip, and we experienced a perfect combination of sport, camaraderie, and the scenic beauty of the Wye Valley.
The Fellowship stayed at Caer Llan Conference Centre, a stunning country house overlooking Monmouth and the Welsh mountains, providing an ideal setting for rest, relaxation and good company between rounds.
During the trip the group played at three of the regions premier golf courses, St Pierre, a renowned championship course offering a true test of skill, Rolls of Monmouth Golf Club, known for it’s rolling fairways and historic setting, and the prestigious Celtic Manor, which hosted the Ryder Cup in 2010.
There was keen competition on each of the days as well as an overall event competition, for ladies and gents, where the trophies were won by Gill Crayston and Dusty Wilken.
For those that didn’t play golf, there were a host of activities to suit everyone and plenty of cake shops near by! The trip not only offered excellent golf, but strengthened the friendships and traditions that make the Golf Fellowship so special.

We have 3 more events in the 2025 calendar with an end of season dinner to look forward to in November.

We have a healthy membership and cater for all levels, but if you are interested in joining us or want to learn more about the Fellowship please contact John Carpenter at jnbcarpenter@hotmail.com  for more information.
